The improvements will allow three companies to expand, creating 135 new full time jobs.

About five million dollars is being provided by the companies for the projects, and another million is being provided by the state.

Anita Richardson is with the Department of Transportation.

She said, “They basically help get workers to their jobs, materials to growers and manufacturers, and basically help shore up infrastructure that is critical for the needs of industry.”

Richardson said roads leading to the three businesses are already in poor condition, and they would have deteriorated even further due to increased traffic from the business expansions.

The road projects are currently in the planning phase.
