Snyder recall campaign to begin gathering names

rick-snyder-mugjpg-446cf7790e6a2ea6The campaign to recall Governor Rick Snyder over his handling of the Flint water crisis plans to begin gathering signatures on Sunday.

Organizers say they’ll start gathering names following Easter church services in Flint and Detroit. That’s after a state board approved the petition forms last month.

The Reverend Alexander Bullock is one of the organizers. He says, whether the campaign succeeds or fails, it’s important that frustrated voters have the chance to try and change their government.

“Because you either have recall or rebellion. You either have recall or rioting. You either have recall or negative, destructive apathy,” said Bullock.

It will be tough. The recall effort has 60 days to gather almost 790 thousand signatures. That means collecting more than 13 thousand signatures a day.
