Central Michigan University and Mid Michigan Community College launch housing partnership program

file8791251765925This week Mid Michigan Community College and Central Michigan University announced a new program to boost retention by allowing community college students to live on the university’s campus.

Students will pay tuition to Mid Michigan Community while paying living expenses to CMU.

In the first year CMU hopes to have 50 community college students living on campus and will design programming specially for these students.

Michelle Howard is the Executive Director of Academic Advising. She said the program, called Chippewa Achieve, aims to provide support to students.

“Students who initially applied for admission to CMU and could benefit from a year of coursework at community college before enrolling in university coursework can do so.”

The program is set to begin in the Fall of 2017.
