The project received unanimous approval from the city council and plans to begin the first phase in early November.
Tom Adams is a member of the city council. He said after the study is complete they will begin work on enhancing the lighting, streets, and overall look of the downtown.
“The engineering will take about three months and we expect to look at the final plans next spring with construction beginning next summer.”
Adams said money for the project will come entirely from three Midland foundations.
