Children are spending more time in front of electronic devices than ever before, but we don’t know what kind of impact that may be having.
Sarah Domoff is the president of CMU’s Family Health Research Lab. She said as screen time increases, it’s important for researchers, and parents, to understand how it could impact development.
“Now more than ever it’s important because we know children’s media use has risen and adolescents spend many hours a day using screens. It’s important to do this now because it has a large impact on the adolescents and children with whom we work.”
Domoff said she hopes to provide parents with healthy guidelines for kids electronic use.
