Due to the recent national breach of credit card information at Target, the Petoskey Chamber of Commerce is hosting a seminar on credit card security.
The seminar is being called the Payment Card Industry Security for the Northern Michigan Business.
Chamber organizers say they are trying to help local businesses make sure credit card information is secure and avoid costly penalties for non-compliance.
Carlin Smith, President of the Petoskey Regional Chamber of Commerce, said the presenter is an expert in compliance .
“It’s important that businesses really understand that they are responsible in a lot of ways for their clients and customers credit card information and there are some procedures and practices that they need to implement on a regular basis to make sure they are keeping that information safe.”
The seminar will be held on Wednesday, January 22 at the Stafford’s Bay View Inn in Petoskey.
