The Michigan State Police recently gave their 2013 Trooper of year award to a Central Michigan University alumni who has served as a state trooper for 17 years.
Detective Sergeant Jennifer Pintar has been working at the State police post in Alpena for a year now.
The award recognizes a trooper or sergeant that has shown exemplary qualities throughout the year including professional ethics and dedication to duty.
Pintar says, “I was very honored because the award is called the doctor Carl Gerstacker award that was established for troopers, or a sergeant, that not only does their job but is also involved in the community, and being involved in the community has been very important to me throughout my career.”
Pintar graduated from CMU in 1998, Since then she’s worked at the East Tawas and West Branch State Police posts.
She founded the anti-drug program Iosco PRIDE 15 years ago and has received national recognition for her efforts.
