They say in order to get the job you need to dress to impress. Central Michigan University is providing students the dress in order to impress that potential job employer.
First Impressions is a free clothing closet. Students who need professional clothes for interviews, or a job fair can .
The shop had its grand opening on Tuesday. It is also hosting a campus clothing drive in order to get more outfits for students who need them.
Elizabeth Ross is the wife of CMU President Dr. George Ross, and a volunteer at First Impressions. She says although the initiative is new, it’s already well-received. “ It has taken on a life of it’s own. We have been so fortunate to have people donate everything that you see and it has been great. And we have gotten some very positive responses from community people, the staff here at CMU you know employees so it’s been great.”
Ross went on to say it’s disheartening to hear about that students can’t take a job they want because they can’t afford clothes.
