A group of experts will gather in Saginaw this week to discuss ways to restore water quality in the Saginaw Bay watershed.

Mark Wyckoff is an organizer of the conference.

He said the watershed is the largest basin in Michigan. It touches on parts of 22 counties.

“Many people don’t realize how much a part of what happens in their portion of the state is actually affecting water quality in the bay and so what this particular conference is focusing on is to share information from lots of activities underway by many different stakeholders.”

Wyckoff said the watershed conference is a good chance for people to create joint efforts and tackle issues together.

The conference is scheduled for Thursday, June 12th at Saginaw Valley State University.
