The group includes; Charlevoix, Clare, Mecosta, Otsego and Roscommon Counties. They all have defined plans to expand broadband access, adoption and use.
Ogemaw County is now the ninth in the state that’s been named a “connected” community.
Judy Palnau is a spokesperson for the Michigan Public Service Commission.
She said, “It’s something that will benefit Michigan. Everything from jobs to allowing more and more folks to telecommute by staying home and having that connection and knowing that they can do their job from their home.”
Palnau said Michigan is the national leader in communities that have earned the “connected” certification.
