Health officials in Leelanau County are urging beach-goers to avoid full-body contact with the water at two beaches in Suttons Bay, because of E. Coli concerns.
The beaches at Suttons Bay Marina and Suttons Bay Park are at a “level two advisory” for E. Coli. Officials said that means it’s safe to wade in the water, but it shouldn’t touch your face or hands.
Boating, kayaking and other activities are still safe.
Health officials saidsunny weather and a westerly winds today and tomorrow should disperse the bacteria in a relatively short amount of time.
New test results will be announced July 4.
