More than a quarter million dollars in grant money from the National Institutes of Health was recently awarded to a microbiologist from CMU in order to bolster a certain type of stem cell research.
Dr. Xantha Karp is a CMU professor, and the lead microbiologist on this stem cell research project.

Officials say the proposed path would extend from Clare to Alma and connect two existing trails: the Pere Marquette and Fred Meijer Heartland trails.
The path is proposed to run more than 40 miles through Clare, Isabella and Gratiot Counties. It would largely run parallel to US-127. Continue reading
