Host, Andrea Seabrook

NPR Convention Coverage
On CMU Public Radio

Democratic National Convention - Monday, August 25 - Thursday, August 28
at 8 p.m.

CMU Public Radio brings you National Public Radio's convention coverage, hosted by Andrea Seabrook. The backbone of each special will be the key speeches of the day and interviews with those making news at the convention.

Following the final speeches at each convention, NPR will host a talk show call-in special and allow callers from around the
country to express their views on the election and candidates. Each one-hour talk-show special will begin at 11 p.m. on the final night of each convention (the start time may be later if the speech or coverage runs long). Each program will be hosted
by NPR's Neal Conan.

Pete Seeger:
How Can I Keep From Singing?
3-Part Special continues on CMU Public Radio

CMU Public Radio is premiering a special three-part series, "Pete Seeger: How Can I Keep From Singing?," a tribute to a traditional music legend. Sundays August 24, August 31 and September 7 at 4 p.m., explore Seeger's life and music in three captivating, hour-long documentaries.

Part 2 - Folk Songs and Ballads - Sunday, August 31 at 4 p.m.
Part two of this program evokes the exciting folk music revival
of the 1950s and '60s and the role Seeger played in it.

Part 3 - Topical and Protest Songs - Sunday, September 7 at 4 p.m.
Part three looks at the tradition of singing out for social
change, and how the music of the Civil Rights, anti-war, and
environmental movements galvanized Seeger's life.
