About Mike ...
Mike Johnston is the host of Destination Out (Sunday evening at 11:00) at CMU Public Radio. He teaches music history courses at Delta College and Mid Michigan Community College.

Personal Fact:  He has been married for thirteen years.  He is a community volunteer and began his program in August, 1987.   He is also the bassist with Faruq Z. Bey and the Northwoods Improvisers jazz ensemble since 1976.   
Mike was raised in Traverse City and Holds an MFA degree in Art/Photography.

Likes: He likes sports, The Juke Joint and Jazz radio.

Little Known Fact:  Mike wrote for Coda Publications (Jazz magazine) from 1981 to 1999.
