Hired in 1990 as the prime time host for “Nightside,” David spent 11 years with the overnight jazz/blues audience. He was named News Director and Morning Edition Host in 2001, winning several MAB awards, including efforts that earned “Station of the Year” honors in 2003.
In October 2015, David was tapped to be Music Director – launching the new focus on classical music and the arts – “Mosaic.” The title comes from the idea that CMU Public Radio has become a cultural center for those making art, featuring art and celebrating arts in the area. “I want to reach all those involved in the arts by bringing us together through our music and conversations – on the air, on the web, through social media. There is a big family of people who share the same passions I do. I want us to come together here on CMU Public Radio.
