An original WCMU production “The Great Climate State” takes a deeper look into Michigan’s abnormal weather conditions of 2012. The entire Great Lakes State has been declared a natural disaster area by the U.S. Department of Agriculture because of the drought and heat conditions that began in March. How this impacts Michigan fruits, vegetables, livestock, and timber is discussed in this special, as well as how those impacts trickle down to the consumer.
