The report compiles writing from academia, state agencies, and the private sector to cover a range of topics including mud snail invasion, the impact of microplastics, and Great Lakes transportation initiatives.
Rachel Cromwell is with the Michigan Office of the Great Lakes. She said one of the important issues this year was increasing access for people with disabilities.
“There have been some initiatives lately, especially in our DNR state parks, to make sure people with disabilities are able to get to water and enjoy our Great Lakes resources just like everyone else.”
Cromwell said the 44 page report gives a holistic look at all of the things that happened to the Great Lakes in 2016.
