Harvest Thyme Farm and Vineyard in Cheboygan county is runs a Community Supported Agriculture program. In a CSA, people buy farm shares and receive weekly produce during the growing season.

Greta Jankoviak  is a co-owner of the farm. She said the farm is three years old and continues to expand.

“This will be our first year sending over shares to Mackinac Island. We’ll actually be delivering them up to Mackinac City, the we’ll put them on a ferry boat and send them off, and then people will be able to pick them up on the other side at the ferry docks.”

She says the farm has about 70 shareholders locally and they hope to add 20 from the island this year.

Jankoviak said the program runs June through the middle of October.
