JCPenney to close seven stores in Michigan


Department store JCPenney is set to close stores in Midland, Sault Ste. Marie and Holland among 130 others nationwide.

JCPenney has announced seven stores in Michigan, and over 130 nationwide will be shut down.

The company says it’s an effort to improve sustainable growth and long-term profitability.

According to a press release, 5-thousand jobs nationwide will be impacted by the closures.

The liquidation process is expected to begin next month.
