A group of fly fishers 8-hundred strong have challenged a fish farm on the Au Sable river.
Although the farm has been approved by the Department of Environmental Quality, the anglers are still worried it poses a threat to the river.

The Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians has collaborated with the Department of Natural Resources to examine the Sturgeon fishery in the Tip of the Mitt.
Burt Lake in Cheboygan county is known for having a historically strong Sturgeon fishery. However, in recent years, overfishing has had a significant impact on the fish population.

The DNR has asked for help from Michigan anglers in recording tagged fish and their locations on Lake Michigan.
