Preliminary data from the Department of Natural Resources show that Lake Trout populations in Lake Huron and Lake Michigan are up, and Walleye in the Saginaw Bay and Lake Erie are booming.

DNR offers fishing and backpacking workshops for women

Locals and tourists alike are drawn to the natural beauty of northern Michigan and a Department of Natural Resources program is trying to introduce more women to the outdoors.
